Scranton Steam Engines Head Coach, Josh Poor had these comments after the game, "This was another disappointing loss. The Sandsharks played us very physical and we got mauled out there. Offensively, we ran to setup the pass with success. We gave up 6 sacks, which was very unacceptable and our offensive line will have a tough schedule at practice this week. We struggled to convert on 3rd down. We scored 13 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone and need to do a better job at getting the ball in the End Zone when we're that far in the opponents end. Defensively, we gave up too much in the air, but we did limit their rushing attack. We struggled to stop them on 3rd down. The Sandsharks were able to control the clock and set the pace of the game. We allowed 20 points on 4 trips to the Red Zone, which was one good thing to see in this game. Holding your opponents to FG's puts you in a position to win a game on most days. Unfortunately, this was not one of those days, because we allowed a kickoff to be run back for a TD and didn't do well on special teams. We need to put this loss aside, play game to game, and find a way to get our first win. We will review the game film and make the necessary adjustments moving forward. We host the Palouse Hills Whirlwind (6-0) next week and are in for a fight. The Whirlwind only lost 1 game last season and are undefeated heading into our game. It would be a huge momentum boost to the team, if we can find a way to beat these guys and get our first win. We need to protect the football, establish our running game, and play sound fundamental defense if we want to have a shot at staying in this game and trying to pull an upset win!"
