Put me on the list
I know there are a bunch of guys waiting, and I'm sure my multiplayer inexperience may move me further down the list anyway, but I'll throw my hat in the ring and try to add some content to the league in the meantime.
- How long have you been playing FOF? Since 2003, and up until now I've only played solo careers as I didn't think I could keep up with a consistent multiplayer game. The downside of that is that nobody else is interested in a solo game, and it makes it hard to get sucked in with nobody to share it with. Now I think that multiplayer will pull me in more and that, in turn, will make it easy to stay interested.
- How'd you find FOFC? For years I simmed the Madden and NCAA games enjoying the team management an player development aspect. I searched the internet for football management games and quickly found my way to FOFC. Been playing it ever since.
- Why are you applying to be in the WOOF, as opposed to another league? Many of the guys I recognize from FOFC are part of the league, and it would be great to get to know them better. The interaction is great, and the pre/post game build up and analysis really draws me in.
- What do you enjoy most about FOF? The so many nuances that affect the game. Many of them I'm sure I haven't picked up on. I'm used to simming full seasons at a time. So by playing multiplayer and getting more immersed into the game will have me taking more time to evaluate each step between weeks, do some game planning, etc.
- What other text sims do you play? I've tried a college basketball sim, and pro baseball, but I've always come back to football and FOF is the best there is.
- Are you in any other online text sim leagues? If so, which ones? I recently joined the DFL to gain experience and see if I can keep up with an online league with my busy schedule. But real life needs an outlet and I can see myself keeping up with 2.
- How do you see yourself participating in the league beyond turning in exports for you team? I can see doing pregame analysis and getting into strategy discussions to improve my gameplay. I especially look forward to a sense of ownership of my team and promoting healthy rivalry along with building on the history of the league.
- What's your age and what (general) line of work are you in? A young 31. I work in computer security with a background in game programming. On the side I race my road bike and currently coach 8 other cyclists.
